The Descent: Part 2 is not all that the first film was, but it's worth your time. It's a decent attempt at extending the story of cave divers and all around bad ass women, Sarah and Juno, respectively.

    I think the old man knows about the cave creatures and he didn't want the girl surviving to tell about it. He mentions that his grandfather had been down in the caves, so maybe it's some secret they're attempting to guard.

    Why would he want them to keep existing though? Why not just plug up the hole forever? Maybe he has relatives down there. Ha ha.
